For soil resistivity exceeding 10,000 ohm-cm, Global recommends our impressed current system for optimal performance. Rest assured, our anodes undergo thorough testing in accordance with ASTM G97 procedures.
Experience exceptional cathodic protection in low resistivity soil conditions with our H-1 Alloy (Standard Potential Magnesium) anodes. Manufactured to meet ASTM AZ63 standards and subjected to rigorous testing following ASTM G97 procedures, Global's H-1 Magnesium anodes guarantee reliable performance. These anodes are specifically recommended for applications where soil resistivity falls below 2,000 ohm-cm. Protect your assets effectively with our top-quality H-1 Alloy anodes.
Our direct earth burial DC lead cables are designed for use in deep anode ground bed installations, providing reliable performance even in corrosive gas and brackish water conditions. The conductor consists of a stranded bare copper conductor that meets the ASTM specification B-8.
To ensure optimal insulation, the conductor is covered with a homogeneous wall of natural ECTFE fluoropolymer (Halar®) that offers excellent resistance to abrasion, impact, and notch propagation. The jacket, made of high molecular weight polyethylene, conforms to ASTM D-1248 standards (Type I, Class A, Category 5, Grades E4 and E5).
These cables are available in sizes ranging from AWG 14 to AWG 2, with options for High Density Polyethylene (Type II, III, IV) Class B and C in various colors.
Surface printing provides clear identification. For special requests, we offer different wall thickness options for Halar and HMWPE, as well as a range of colors.
HALAR fluoropolymer, renowned for its unique properties, makes it an excellent choice for cathodic-protection lead-wire insulation. It demonstrates exceptional resistance to chemical environments while maintaining electrical properties. Through laboratory and field tests, HALAR fluoropolymer has proven to be superior to PVF2 in brackish water environments commonly found in deep ground beds.

In situations where galvanic anodes are not efficient due to high electrolyte resistivity or when large currents are required, the application of low-voltage DC current derived from the AC mains supply becomes necessary. This is accomplished through the use of transformers/rectifiers, which supply direct current to specially designed anodes capable of dissipating substantial currents without significant wastage. These systems are known as impressed current systems, and their major components include rectifiers, positive and negative cables, anodes, and, when applicable to soil environments, carbon "coke" backfill.
At Global Corrosion, we offer high-quality rectifiers for cathodic protection systems. Our compact and versatile rectifiers, such as the Type ES and ES-II models, deliver reliable service in your cathodic protection setup. For larger output requirements, we also provide custom-built rectifiers.
With years of field-proven service, our rectifier designs have been continuously improved, ensuring long and trouble-free operation. Tightly controlled manufacturing, conservative ratings, and additional features contribute to their performance and durability.
Our rectifier offerings include air-cooled units, service station rectifiers, oil-cooled units, well casing rectifiers, weatherproof models, bridge deck and rebar options, explosion-proof variants, as well as rectifiers with manual adjustment, automatic potential control, and constant current capabilities.
The anodes can become porous during the graphitization process, allowing water penetration, corrosion, and premature failure of the metallic lead wire to anode connector. To overcome these issues, the carbon industry has developed treatments that fill the pores with high-quality non-conductive materials. Scientifically boiled linseed oil, microcrystalline wax, and special resins are used in this process, significantly improving the performance of graphite anodes in wet and hostile environments. Furthermore, the resin treatment strengthens the anodes, making them ideal for deep anode ground beds and "free suspension" applications in water tanks, docks, and piers.
At Global Corrosion, we offer a comprehensive range of high-quality graphite anodes suitable for impressed current cathodic protection systems. Our graphite anodes are available in standard sizes of 3 x 60 inches and 4 x 80 inches, with the option for custom shapes and sizes upon request.
Choose from untreated graphite anodes or those impregnated with microcrystalline wax, double-boiled high-purity linseed oil, or resin. Graphite is an excellent choice for cathodic protection due to its chemical inertness, cost-effectiveness, and excellent electrical conductivity. With the widespread application of cathodic protection, particularly in underground pipelines, utilizing graphite anodes has become a routine and efficient method of corrosion control.
Reference Electrodes: These electrodes serve as a benchmark for measuring the electrical potential of the structure being protected. Our reference electrodes are designed with precision and accuracy, providing reliable data for monitoring and maintaining the cathodic protection system.
Coupon Holders: Designed to hold sacrificial anode test coupons, our coupon holders facilitate easy and efficient testing of the protective current and corrosion rate. With sturdy construction and user-friendly features, our coupon holders ensure accurate measurements and promote effective corrosion control.
CP Meters: Our CP meters are specifically designed to measure and monitor the cathodic protection levels of various structures. With advanced features and intuitive interfaces, these meters enable you to assess the performance of your cathodic protection system and make informed decisions for optimal corrosion prevention.
Pipe Locators: Locate underground pipelines and cables effortlessly with our high-quality pipe locators. Designed for accuracy and ease of use, our pipe locators help you identify the exact location of buried assets, ensuring efficient maintenance and avoiding accidental damage during excavation or construction.
Vent Pipes: Our vent pipes are designed to release excess gases, such as hydrogen, from the cathodic protection system. By allowing these gases to escape safely, vent pipes prevent pressure build-up and potential damage to the system. Our vent pipes are made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance in various environments.
Coke Breeze: Coke breeze, a carbonaceous material derived from metallurgical coke, serves as an excellent backfill material in deep anode ground beds. It provides electrical conductivity and promotes efficient current distribution within the ground. Our coke breeze is carefully processed to ensure uniformity and high purity, allowing for optimal performance in cathodic protection applications.
